Future Prospects for the Biogas Sector

Aim of Project

The aim of the project is to develop target images of the biogas sector in order to support stakeholders and policy makers in making decisions regarding the development of the biogas sector.

 

Project-Design

To this end, the development of key influencing factors for energy-based and carbon-based business areas as well as the influence of sustainability regulations are estimated. An estimate is also made of the extent to which grid infrastructures are available.

Optimal development paths are then formed. On the one hand, these are based on political and economic criteria. On the other hand, optimal development paths are also formed for the business areas in order to show which sectors could be served by the biogas industry under which assumptions. Funding instruments are also analyzed. Finally, the above analyses are used to develop possible target images for the biogas sector, which politicians and companies can use to decide which developments they would like to focus on and which investments can be made.

In a collaborative process, the preliminary results of the research are validated with the client and the target images are also developed collaboratively. Finally, the results are documented in a study.
