Securing monitoring data within the research initiative Energiewendebauen
Background
Within the Scientific Accompanying Research for the Energy Transition in Construction (EWB), a monitoring database for the EWB funding focus was designed and technically implemented over the past four years. The database is intended to store measurement data from the demonstration projects in compliance with data protection regulations and to make it accessible to researchers for further use in energy research.”
Project Aim
The project addresses the question of how the projects within the EWB funding focus can be supported in processing and documenting the measurement data they collect, and how this can generate usable and valuable data for other research institutions. In addition to support with data processing and storage, the initiative also aims to expand the research network and create additional incentives for networking among research institutions.
Project Implementation
The project is being carried out in cooperation with the German Solar Energy Society, Berlin-Brandenburg Regional Association (DGS). The involvement of the DGS takes place under a subcontract.
In addition, the project is tasked with supporting the new team of the Scientific Accompanying Research for EWB in the area of monitoring. To this end, close cooperation is taking place with Project Management Jülich (PtJ), Department ESN1.
Work Packages
The project is divided into two work packages
- Expansion of the Monitoring Network
Work Package 1 focuses on networking and professional exchange among the demonstration and monitoring projects within the EWB funding focus. To this end, a monthly digital meeting will be established, providing researchers with an opportunity to exchange on current topics in the field of monitoring. In addition, a personal meeting will be held every six months to further strengthen the network, allowing researchers to get to know each other better and work together on shared research questions.
- Support and Operation of Monitoring Database
The second work package focuses on ensuring the operation of the monitoring database. In addition to maintaining the secure operation of the database, researchers will be actively encouraged to upload the measurement data they have collected. The project team will support the researchers in preparing and describing their data.
Furthermore, this work package includes exchange and collaboration with other database projects, such as the Open Energy Platform (OEP).
